Our Story

A Divine Encounter with Troy

In a world where online connections often feel fleeting, my story with Troy feels like a beautiful twist of fate. I had always been content in my own life, resistant to the idea of finding love through the internet. Yet, thanks to a mutual friend, our paths crossed in a way that felt truly divinely orchestrated.

In May 2023, we had our first conversation. I was nervous at first, but as we talked for over an hour, I realized we had so much in common. By the end, I could sense a spark that I hadn’t expected.

Troy mentioned he would be in Dallas for work soon and asked if he could take me out to dinner. Excited yet cautious, I agreed, and that was the moment everything began to change.

Memorial Weekend rolled around, and Troy invited me to dinner on Saturday. He asked for recommendations on restaurants, wanting a nice place where we could really talk. He took care of making the reservations and a great evening was in the works. Little did we know, this dinner would turn into an unforgettable weekend together. AND…. little did Troy know, I had done a deep dive on his background check so I was thankful his truths were his truths and there was no worries from the history standpoint! LOL

He arrived in town the night before, and what was supposed to be a simple dinner turned into a delightful weekend adventure of multiple dates. On Friday night, we had a casual meal in Plano, bonding over our shared love for food and drinks – and shared an uncanny like of similar tastes. After dinner, we took a ride on the Ferris Wheel at Grandscape, sharing more conversation, laughter. We ended the evening with a glass of wine and full anticipation of the dates ahead.

Saturday was filled with fun activities. We played pickleball, explored Frisco and The Star, and enjoyed a lovely dinner at a nice, quiet and romantic restaurant. (Food and drink choices were similar again!) Every moment was a chance to get to know each other better, and that evening, we strolled through Legacy West, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.

On Sunday, Troy joined me at church, and I was thrilled to hear his amazing singing voice. We spent the day relaxing by the pool and had dinner with some of his friends, allowing us to quietly introduce each other to our circles. With every interaction—whether it was worship, sports, or simply chatting—our connection deepened.

By the end of the weekend, it was clear to both of us that this was just the beginning. The chemistry we had fostered was undeniable, and I found myself eagerly looking forward to more dates.

In the following weeks, we began traveling back and forth between Frisco and Tulsa, each visit strengthening our bond. As I reflect on how we met, I can’t help but see the divine nature of our connection. Neither of us had planned for love to find us online, yet it did—proving that sometimes, life has a way of guiding you exactly where you’re meant to be. We praise God for the blessing of connecting us and look forward to honoring Him as we build our lives together.
